The latest report released by TM Research shows that the global solar inverter market is gradually concentrated, and the top ten manufacturers in the first half of this year accounted for 80% of shipments. In fact, the top five vendors outperformed half of the world's inverter shipments.
Among them, Chinese company Huawei inverter has maintained its leading position since 2015 and occupied 17% of the global market share in the first half of this year. However, in terms of revenue, the traditional giant SMA is leading again.
It is worth noting that solar inverter prices continue to fall, falling by only 10% in the past six months. “Price pressure is still a constant reality in the mature inverter market,” said senior solar analyst and report author Scott Moskowitz. “The impact of string inverters and 1500V inverters, centralized inverters in the US market. The price of the device has fallen by more than half."
In terms of shipments, global solar inverter shipments are expected to reach a record 63.5GW in 2016. However, with the reduction of demand in China, the United States and Japan, the world's three major markets, shipments in 2017 will be reduced by 5%.
In the long run, GTM Research predicts that solar inverter shipments will exceed 100MW by 2021, and the Chinese market will still lead, but the share is expected to decline. Emerging markets such as the Middle East and Southeast Asia will be the fastest growing regions between 2016 and 2021.
